In the mountains of east Sumba many young children struggle to attend primary school. Some of them have to walk for more than an hour, those fortunate wearing shoes, while many walk to school on bare feet.
We are examining whether it is possible to start a local branch of the regional elementary school in Mau Maru, in order to reduce the travelling distance for the children, and to make education more accessible for all.
